Safety is playing an increasingly central role in the design and use of electronic systems. In this context, we are pleased to announce that three Psicontrol colleagues recently successfully completed a specialized functional safety training course at TÜV SÜD, focusing on the IEC 61508 international standard.

The IEC 61508 standard provides a comprehensive framework for integrating functional safety throughout the entire lifecycle of an electronic system. This includes not only the design and development phases but also system operation, maintenance, and future updates. The standard outlines how risks should be systematically identified, assessed, and controlled in order for systems to continue to perform reliably under a wide range of conditions.

Psicontrol invests in functional safety expertise

Functional safety ensures that systems operate in a safe and predictable manner and reduces the risk of hazardous failures to a minimum acceptable level. In an increasingly automated world that is being driven by robotics, this is essential – particularly in applications where electronics play a critical role, such as motor drives.

Such an investment in knowledge further strengthens Psicontrol’s position as a reliable technology partner. Functional safety that is focused on realizing risk reduction from within, combined with cybersecurity, which addresses risks from external threats, creates a powerful synergy.

Furthermore, the dual approach enables us to deliver safer, more reliable, and future-proof solutions for our customers.
